Does quantization of samples create noise?

7.4.

Quantization noise results when a continuous random variable is converted to a discrete one or when a discrete random variable is converted to one with fewer levels. In images, quantization noise often occurs in the acquisition process.

How do you calculate quantization noise?

The quantization noise can take a value between ±LSB/2, and the probability density function is constant in this range (i.e., it's a uniform distribution). Since the integral of the probability density function is equal to one, its value will be 1/LSB for -LSB/2 < e < LSB/2 (see Figure 6).

What is sampling frequency noise?

The sampling frequency (or sample rate) is the number of samples per second in a Sound. For example: if the sampling frequency is 44100 hertz, a recording with a duration of 60 seconds will contain 2,646,000 samples.

How does quantization reduce noise?

The process of oversampling to reduce ADC quantization noise is straightforward. An analog signal is digitized at an fs sample rate that is higher than the minimum rate needed to satisfy the Nyquist criterion (twice the input analog signal's bandwidth) and then lowpass filtered.
