What is lossless compressed RAW?
Lossless compressed RAW:
A lossless compressed image is processed by post-processing software and the data is decompressed like a ZIP file. Decompression allows you to expand the compressed file back to its original size. This is a popular format that occupies less space with minimal quality loss.
Should RAW file type be compressed or uncompressed?
Lossless Compressed RAW: Recommended when you want to record with the same image quality as uncompressed RAW but with a smaller file size. Compressed RAW: Recommended when you want to shoot continuously at the maximum speed, or to limit the file size.
Is Canon compressed RAW lossless?
Canon has advised us that the new C-RAW format uses a lossy-compression algorithm, meaning that some of the image information is discarded to save space, while RAW file compression is not lossy (or minimally, we don't know that it is).
Can RAW files be compressed without losing information?
