Intra-class variation defines image variations occur between different images of one class. The similarity between samples within the same class is typically measured by the Intra-class Correlation coefficient.
What is within class variance?
Variance within the class is the variance of the members of the class. For example, if class C1 contains the vectors of v1,v2,…,vn, such that μ1:=∑ni=1vin the variance within the class C1 is ∑ni=1(vi−μ1)2n−1.
