What is the difference between stable and unstable system?

If a system does not satisfy the BIBO stability condition, the system is called the unstable system. Therefore, for a bounded input, it is not necessary that the unstable system produces a bounded output. Thus, we can say that a system is unstable even if one bounded input generates an unbounded output.

What is the stable system?

A system is said to be stable, if its output is under control. Otherwise, it is said to be unstable. A stable system produces a bounded output for a given bounded input. The following figure shows the response of a stable system. This is the response of first order control system for unit step input.

What is stable and unstable state?

Stable equilibrium exists when the object is in its lowest energy condition; metastable equilibrium exists when additional energy (ΔG) must be introduced before the object can reach true stability; unstable equilibrium exists when no additional energy is needed before reaching metastability or stability.

What are examples of unstable?

The situation is unstable and potentially dangerous. Both clay and sandstone are unstable rock formations. He was emotionally unstable. Coleridge was also a highly unstable person.
