How many OFDM are there?

Fifty-two of the subcarriers are used to carry modulated data; four of the subcarriers function as pilot carriers; and eight of the subcarriers serve as guard bands. OFDM are sometimes also referred to as OFDM tones. In this blog series, we will use both terms interchangeably. Each OFDM subcarrier is 312.5 KHz.

What type of modulation is OFDM?

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is another widely used modulation method used to achieve high data rates and spectral efficiency. It is known as a multicarrier modulation method as many carriers are used instead of just one.

What are the basic features of OFDM?

In OFDM, several bits can be sent in parallel, or at the same time, in separate substream channels. This enables each substream's data rate to be lower than would be required by a single stream of similar bandwidth. This makes the system less susceptible to interference and enables more efficient data bandwidth.

What are OFDM subcarriers?

Cellphone data uses subcarriers in OFDM and OFDMA arrangements to transmit data from the base station to the handset. In LTE, each subcarrier is spaced 15 kHz apart. These subcarriers are combined in groups of 12 to form a single resource block.
