What is OFDM transmission?

What is orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM)? Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing is a method of data transmission where a single information stream is split among several closely spaced narrowband subchannel frequencies instead of a single Wideband channel frequency.

What is the bandwidth of OFDM?

Each OFDM channel consists of 128 to 2048 sub-carriers and can occupy bandwidths from 1.25 MHz to 20 MHz.

How does OFDM transmit data?

The data to be transmitted on an OFDM signal is spread across the carriers of the signal, each carrier taking part of the payload. This reduces the data rate taken by each carrier. The lower data rate has the advantage that interference from reflections is much less critical.

What is channel Estimation in MIMO-OFDM?

The channel estimation is carried out with conventional Least Square (LS) and Minimum Mean Square (MMSE) estimation algorithms. The performance of MIMO-OFDM system is evaluated on the basis of Bit Error Rate (BER) and Mean Square Error (MSE) level.
