What is trace property?

Tracing is a procedure in English law used to identify property (such as money) which has been taken from the claimant involuntarily or which the claimant wishes to recover. It is not in itself a way to recover the property, but rather to identify it so that the courts can decide what remedy to apply.

What is property of trace of a matrix?

The trace is only defined for a square matrix (n × n). It can be proved that the trace of a matrix is the sum of its (complex) eigenvalues (counted with multiplicities). It can also be proved that tr(AB) = tr(BA) for any two matrices A and B.

What does trace mean in statistics?

The trace of a square matrix is the sum of its diagonal entries. The trace has several properties that are used to prove important results in matrix algebra and its applications. Definition. Examples.

What does trace mean in math?

In mathematics, a trace is a property of a matrix and of a linear operator on a vector space.
