What is the duration of each frame in 5G?

5G NR retains the concept of 10 millisecond frame divided into 10 one-millisecond subframes. There is also a concept of slot, but its definition is different from a slot in LTE. One slot is defined as 14 OFDM symbols, which corresponds to once a frame or one millisecond in LTE.

What is symbol duration in OFDM?

Each OFDM subcarrier is 312.5 KHz. Figure 1: 802.11n/ac 20 MHz channelOFDM subcarriers. 802.11ax introduces a longer OFDM symbol time of 12.8 μs, which is four times longer than the legacy symbol time of 3.2 μs.

What are symbols in 5G?

5G provides a feature using which each symbol within a slot can either be used to schedule Uplink packet (U) or Downlink packet(D) or Flexible (F). A symbol marked as Flexible means it can be used for either Uplink or Downlink as per requirement.

How many symbols are there in 5G?

The number of OFDM symbols per slot is 14 for a configuration using normal cyclic prefix. For extended cyclic prefix, the number of OFDM symbols per slot is 12. In 5G NR, the slot can be viewed as the basis for scheduling, although different scheduling intervals are supported.
