What is the root locus method?

The root-locus method allows us to determine how the locations of the closed-loop poles of a feedback system change as the magnitude of the low-frequency loop transmission is varied. There are many systems where relative stability as a function of some parameter other than gain is required.

Where the root locus starts and ends?

Key Concept: Rule 3 – Starting and Ending Points of Root Locus. The locus starts (when K=0) at poles of the loop gain, and ends (when K→∞ ) at the zeros. Note: there are q zeros of the loop gain as s→∞ .

What is root locus with example?

Definition. The root locus of a feedback system is the graphical representation in the complex s-plane of the possible locations of its closed-loop poles for varying values of a certain system parameter. The points that are part of the root locus satisfy the angle condition.
