What is RL low-pass filter?

RL Low Pass Filter

A sinusoidal voltage of constant amplitude and variable frequency is applied as input. The output is taken across the resistance R. The total impedance of the circuit consists of an inductive reactance (jωL) in series with the resistance R. Z R j L. = + ω

How does RL low-pass filter work?

It is composed from a resistor and an inductor which blocks high frequency signals and allows low frequency signals to pass. The RL low pass filter above works under the inductive reactance principle. Just like impedance and capacitance, the inductance will cause phase shift and differing frequency signals.

Is RL high pass or low-pass?

An RL circuit acts as a high pass filter when constructed as shown in Figure 3. In the circuit shown, the resistor is the series component and the inductor is the shunt component.

What is the difference between RC and RL filters?

Difference between RL Circuit and RC Circuit

An electric circuit which consists of only a resistor and an inductor either in series or parallel is known as RL circuit. An electric circuit that contains only a resistor and a capacitor, connected in series or parallel, is known as RC circuit.
