What is sidelobe ratio?
The PSLR is defined as the ratio of the highest sidelobe peak power Ps to the main lobe peak power Pm of the pulse response function, which indicates the ability of the SAR system to observe weak scattering points near the strong scattering points.
What is effect of side lobes?
In receiving antennas, sidelobes may pick up interfering signals, and increase the noise level in the receiver. The power density in the sidelobes is generally much less than that in the main beam.
What is side lobe effect in maritime?
​Side lobes are naturally occurring areas of transmitted energy that are part of virtually any transmitter used in marine electronics. Radar, echo sounders (fishfinders) and sonars all generate a "main beam", which is also known as the "main lobe".
