How do you measure Qbl?
At the end of the delivery procedure, the baseline volume will be subtracted from total volume in the drape. At the end of the delivery procedure, you will subtract your baseline volume from the total volume to obtain your measured QBL.
What is EBL and QBL?
EBL, estimated blood loss; QBL, quantitative blood loss; AUC, area under the curve. Cesarean births. In cesarean births, there was no difference in the median recorded blood loss between the EBL and QBL group (700 mL vs 660.5 mL, P=0.29).
How is blood loss measured?
There are two ways of measuring blood loss: one is by direct measurement of collected blood (swabs, suction bottles, drainage bags, etc.), and the other is by indirect measurement. The latter reflects blood loss by assessment of haemoglobin concentration, haematocrit or the need for blood transfusions.
