Why is IFTTT not working?
If you are using a connection with an IoT device that is not running successfully, try a full reset of the device, double-check that you have connected IFTTT to the same device account where it is registered, and ensure your internet connection is strong. Also, confirm that your device is IFTTT compatible.
How long does it take for IFTTT to work?
SMS (texting your IFTTT number) takes only 4 seconds to trigger. Phone (calling your IFTTT number) takes 4 seconds to trigger. Date and Time (IFTTT clock) is accurate down to the minute.
Does IFTTT have to be running to work?
For applets that are triggered by apps on your phone, e.g. the Calendar app, yes your phone needs to be turned on. But you don't need the IFTTT app to be open and running for the applet to be triggered. For instance I have geo fence triggered applets that run from my phone which don't require the IFTTT app to be open.
Does IFTTT work well?
It is great for managing connections to multiple devices and apps. The ability to have your home lights turn on when you arrive, or have the AC turn on at a specific time every day are all really cool and useful tasks that IFTTT performs perfectly.
