What is peak detection algorithm?
A new automatic peak detection algorithm is developed and applied to histogram-based image data reduction (quantization). The algorithm uses a peak detection signal derived either from the image histogram or the cumulative distribution function to locate the peaks in the image histogram.
How do you find the peak of a signal?
A common requirement in scientific data processing is to detect peaks in a signal and to measure their positions, heights, widths, and/or areas. One way to do this is to make use of the fact that the first derivative of a peak has a downward-going zero-crossing at the peak maximum.
