What is Sigma in noise?

The noise amplitude about the mean is described by its standard deviation, usually indicated by the symbol σ (sigma). In spreadsheet programs it is indicated by the function STDDEV. The root mean square (rms) amplitude of noise equals 1 standard deviation, or 1σ.

What is Sigma in Gaussian noise?

It is used to remove Gaussian noise and is a realistic model of defocused lens. Sigma defines the amount of blurring. The radius slider is used to control how large the template is. Large values for sigma will only give large blurring for larger template sizes.

What is Rayleigh noise?

Rayleigh Noise: The Rayleigh distribution is a continuous probability distribution for positive valued random variables. It is often observed when the magnitude of a vector is related to its directional components (Philippe Cattin, 2013).

What is Gaussian noise formula?

The random process X(t) is called a white Gaussian noise process if X(t) is a stationary Gaussian random process with zero mean, μX=0, and flat power spectral density, SX(f)=N02, for all f.
