What is NB-IoT module?
Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) is a wireless internet of things (IoT) protocol using low-power wide area network (LPWAN) technology. It was developed by 3GPP for cellular wireless communication that enables a wide range of new NB-IoT devices and services.
Does NB-IoT need a SIM card?
In order to get online with our 4G LTE-M/NB-IoT devices, you will require a SIM card that operates on these networks. Network terminology can be confusing - often multiple terms are used for the same network - e.g. Cat-M1 and LTE-M are used interchangeably.
What is the difference between NB-IoT and LTE-M?
NB-IoT can be deployed on both 2G (GSM) and 4G (LTE) networks, while LTE-M is solely for 4G. However, LTE-M is already compatible with the existing LTE network, while NB-IoT uses DSSS modulation, which requires specific hardware. Both are planned to be available on 5G.
How much does NB-IoT cost?
One rate - unlimited data for $30/year*
LTE-M / NB-IoT is optimized specifically for IoT applications.
