What is gold code sequences?

A Gold code, also known as Gold sequence, is a type of binary sequence, used in telecommunication (CDMA) and satellite navigation (GPS). Gold codes are named after Robert Gold.

What is CDMA gold code?

A gold code is a set of random sequences, often called pseudo-noise (PN) sequences, that are statistically uncorrelated. Gold codes are used in CDMA as chipping sequences that allow several callers to use the same frequency, resulting in less interference and better utilization of the available bandwidth.

How long is GPS gold code?

Currently, all broadcast GPS signals use algorithmically generable spreading code sequences. The legacy L1 C/A GPS signal, for example, uses length-1023 Gold codes, which can be generated with two 10-bit linear feedback shift registers (LFSRs), as shown in Fig.

What is Robert Gold Gold code?

Gold codes were developed by Robert Gold. These codes possess pseudo random properties ensuring both favourable auto and cross correlation characteristics. Such codes are used in direct sequence spread spectrum systems such as UMTS in order to describe channels across the radio interface.
