What is the multipath daemon?
Description. The multipathd daemon is in charge of checking for failed paths. When this happens, it will reconfigure the multipath map the path belongs to, so that this map regains its maximum performance and redundancy. This daemon executes the external multipath config tool when events occur.
What is multipath service?
Multipath allows you to configure multiple I/O paths between server nodes and storage arrays into a single device. These I/O paths are physical SAN connections that can include separate cables, switches, and controllers. Multipathing aggregates the I/O paths, creating a new device that consists of the aggregated paths.
What is multipath in server?
Multipathing is the technique of creating more than one physical path between the server and its storage devices. It results in better fault tolerance and performance enhancement. Oracle VM supports multipath I/O out of the box.
What is multipath in cluster?
Multipath IO (MPIO) is required when more than one computer system is attached to the same set of shared disks. MPIO is also required when attaching additional storage externally via the SAS ports located on the rear of each of the system nodes or using iSCSI.
