Is RMS or MEAN appropriate for a DC current signal?

Is RMS or MEAN appropriate for a DC current signal?
  1. Does DC current have RMS?
  2. Is DC voltage peak or RMS?
  3. Why RMS value is not calculated for DC quantity?
  4. Is vrms equivalent to DC?

Does DC current have RMS?

A DC voltage Vdc = 10 V will have an RMS value of 10 V. A DC voltage Vdc = -10 V (the voltage might be negative due to the definition positive and negative for measurement) will have an RMS value of 10 V.

Is DC voltage peak or RMS?

The 120 Volts AC or 230 Volts AC is not true voltage, the voltage is the heating value of what a steady DC voltage would be; it's the voltage in RMS. RMS or Root-Mean-Square is a mathematical way of measuring the heating value from varying voltage.

Why RMS value is not calculated for DC quantity?

The RMS value is only calculated for the time-varying waveforms where the magnitude of quantity varies with respect to time. We cannot find the RMS value for the DC waveform as the DC waveform has a constant value for every instant of time.

Is vrms equivalent to DC?

That is, VRMS is the voltage of the equivalent dc power source; the dc power source that gives the same power as the ac power source.
