How do you count nuclei?

Counting nuclei with AO/PI stain

Acridine orange and propidium iodide (AO/PI) are utilized to confirm successful nuclei isolation. In conventional cell viability testing, the AO/PI dye combination will stain live cells so that these fluoresce green while staining dead cells so that these fluoresce red.

How do you count histology cells?

By counting the number of cells present in a defined area of a tissue section, it is possible to calculate a value for the number of cells that are present per mg of tissue. If the total mass of the tissue is also known then it is possible also to calculate the total number of cells present in the tissue.

How do you count immunofluorescence cells?

Use the "analyze particle" to count how many cells you have in each black and white image. Then, use the logical "AND" on the black and white images to generate a new black and white image containing only the cells that are positive for both antibody A AND B.
