What is finite duration sequence?
A finite-duration sequence is a sequence that is nonzero in a finite interval n1≤n≤n2. As long as each value of x[n] is finite then the sequence will be absolutely summable. When n2>0 there will be a z−1 term and thus the ROC will not include z=0.
What does finite duration mean?
adj. 1 bounded in magnitude or spatial or temporal extent.
What is the ROC of Z transform of a causal finite sequence?
Properties of ROC of Z-Transforms
If x(n) is a finite duration causal sequence or right sided sequence, then the ROC is entire z-plane except at z = 0. If x(n) is a finite duration anti-causal sequence or left sided sequence, then the ROC is entire z-plane except at z = ∞.
