  4. How do you find the output of an LTI system?

Can we use convolution to find the output of any system?

In fact, you can use convolution to find the output for any input, if you know the impulse response. This gives incredible power. There are several ways to understand how convolution works. First convolution will be developed in an approximate form as the sum of impulse responses.

How do you calculate system output?

To calculate the power output, you should multiply the Load/Amperage by the Line Voltage.

How do you find the output of an impulse response?

Given the system equation, you can find the impulse response just by feeding x[n] = δ[n] into the system. If the system is linear and time-invariant (terms we'll define later), then you can use the impulse response to find the output for any input, using a method called convolution that we'll learn in two weeks.

How do you find the output of an LTI system?

The output of any LTI system can be calculated using the input and the impulse function for that system. Convolution has many important properties: Commutativity: x ( t ) ∗ h ( t ) = h ( t ) ∗ x ( t ) x(t) \ast h(t) = h(t) \ast x(t) x(t)∗h(t)=h(t)∗x(t)
