What is the frequency of audio signal?

Audio frequency range basics

20 Hz to 20,000 Hz is the commonly referenced audio frequency range. However, the average human can hear less than this 20 Hz to 20 kHz range and, as individuals age, this detectable range only continues to shrink.

How does the frequency of a wave affect the sound you hear?

The higher the frequency waves oscillate, the higher the pitch of the sound we hear. As you see, sound frequency is determined by the way in which sound waves oscillate whilst travelling to our ears, meaning that they alternate between compressing and stretching the medium, which in most cases is air.

What are examples of high-frequency sounds?

A high-pitched whistle, squeal, and a child's voice are high-frequency sounds. Intensity is how loud or soft a sound is. If a sound is loud, it has a high intensity. If a sound is soft, it has a low intensity.

How is sound signal transmitted?

Sound is produced when an object vibrates, creating a pressure wave. This pressure wave causes particles in the surrounding medium (air, water, or solid) to have vibrational motion. As the particles vibrate, they move nearby particles, transmitting the sound further through the medium.
