Fast-time corresponds to a small-scale time measurement of radar data at each pulse; slow-time is a (typically) much larger time scale, and corresponds to the dimension where each pulse was sent out.
How fast is a radar signal?
In radar, this time is called range. Electro-magnetic waves travel (propagate) at "c" (the speed of light). This speed is 299.8 million meters per second, or about 161,784 nautical miles per second.
What is PRI and PRF?
PRI is the time interval between two adjacent pulses. PRF is the rate that pulses repeat per second and is equal to the inverse of PRI.
What is CPI in radar?
For a coherent radar, the total time to be sampled is referred to as the coherent processing interval (CPI).
What is Doppler FFT?
FFT Plot (Range-Doppler Plot): The FFT is used to convert radar time domain data to frequency domain. Detected objects and their Doppler signature are plotted in an FFT Plot. The x-axis represents the Doppler Frequency (which can be converted to Doppler Speed), and the y-axis is range.
