What is energy per bit?
(energy per bit to noise power spectral density ratio) is a normalized signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) measure, also known as the "SNR per bit". It is especially useful when comparing the bit error rate (BER) performance of different digital modulation schemes without taking bandwidth into account.
What is the bandwidth of BPSK?
Its bandwidth can be set to about 12 kHz; although, for maximum signal-to-noise ratio (if measuring bit error rates, for example), something lower would probably be preferred. The BPSK will have been bandlimited by the lowpass filter in the transmitter, and so the received waveform is no longer rectangular in shape.
What is the error probability of BPSK?
MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS OF ERROR. PROBABILITY. The BER of BPSK over a fixed channel in the presence of AWGN is given by [7] in Chapter 5: Pe(γ) = 1 2 erfc( √ γ) (15) where γ is the received signal-to-noise ratio per bit, and erfc(.) is the complementary error function.
