Discrete sampling

Discrete sample means any individual sample collected in less than 15 minutes. The sampling period shall coincide with the period of maximum discharge flow.

What is discrete sampling method?

Sampling Theory and Methodology

Discrete sample, also known as grab sample, is a single sample collected in an individual container. The sample is representative of the chemistry only at the time and place at which the sample was taken. The time period is generally defined to be less than 15 min.

What is discrete time sampling?

The basic concept of discrete-time sam- pling is similar to that of continuous-time sampling. Specifically, we multiply a discrete-time sequence by a periodic impulse train, thus retaining every Nth sample and setting the remaining ones to zero (where N denotes the period of the sampling impulse train).

What is the sample of discrete?

Some common examples of discrete data are the number of students, the number of children, the shoe size, and so on. Some common examples of continuous data are height, weight, length, time, temperature, age, and so on. Ordinal data values and integer values represent discrete data.

What is continuous sampling?

What Is Continuous Sampling? Continuous sampling is simply drilling through soil or rock and obtaining an uninterrupted length of sample. The continuous sample can be subsampled for chemical analysis, thin sections, assay testing or for continuous description of subsurface materials.
