Difference Between MFCC of speech and speaker recognition
  1. What is MFCC in speech recognition?
  2. How many types of speech recognition systems are there?
  3. How many MFCC features are there?

What is MFCC in speech recognition?

Mel-Frequency Cepstrum Coefficients (MFCC)

In the source-filter model of speech, MFCC are understood to represent the filter (vocal tract). The frequency response of the vocal tract is relatively smooth, whereas the source of voiced speech can be modeled as an impulse train.

How many types of speech recognition systems are there?

There are two types of speech recognition. One is called speaker–dependent and the other is speaker–independent. Speaker–dependent software is commonly used for dictation software, while speaker–independent software is more commonly found in telephone applications.

How many MFCC features are there?
