What is continuous time system and discrete-time system?
A discrete system is one in which the state variable(s) change only at a discrete set of points in time. E.g. customers arrive at 3:15, 3:23, 4:01, etc. A continuous system is one in which the state variable(s) change continuously over time. E.g. the amount of water flow over a dam.
What is the difference between discrete system and continuous system?
Discrete model: the state variables change only at a countable number of points in time. These points in time are the ones at which the event occurs/change in state. Continuous: the state variables change in a continuous way, and not abruptly from one state to another (infinite number of states).
What is continuous time system?
A continuous-time system is a system in which the signals at input and output are continuous-time signals. This chapter connects signals with systems, especially the study of linear time-invariant dynamic systems.
What is difference between discrete and continuous signal?
A signal, of which a sinusoid is only one example, is a sequence of numbers. A continuous-time signal is an infinite and uncountable set of numbers, as are the possible values each number can have.
