Is compressed or uncompressed better?
In the simplest terms, uncompressed video recording produces higher-quality images. Compressed video often has issues with slightly off-color gradients and electronically generated backgrounds, which are created during the compression process.
Should RAW photos be compressed or uncompressed?
Uncompressed RAW: Recommended when both high image quality and developing speed are desired. Lossless Compressed RAW: Recommended when you want to record with the same image quality as uncompressed RAW but with a smaller file size.
What is an uncompressed image?
Uncompressed image data is not to be confused with unprocessed, or RAW, image data. RAW data is minimally altered data direct from a camera's image sensor. Uncompressed image data has been processed to create a displayable image, but hasn't been compressed to create a small file.
