What is AGC loop?
Automatic gain control (AGC) is a closed-loop feedback regulating circuit in an amplifier or chain of amplifiers, the purpose of which is to maintain a suitable signal amplitude at its output, despite variation of the signal amplitude at the input.
What are the types of AGC?
i. Simple AGC: the gain control mechanism is active for high as well as low value of carrier voltage. ii. Delayed AGC: AGC bias is not applied to the amplifiers until signal strength crosses a predetermined level, after which AGC bias is applied.
What is AVC or AGC?
Traditional control method of power grid operation, which is summarized as “AGC (automatic generation control) first and then AVC(automatic voltage control)”, is based on the decoupled control of active and reactive and will not reach the ideal control effect.
What is the main function of AGC?
AGC is a system that controls the increase in the amplitude of an electrical signal from the original input to the amplified output, automatically. AGC is used in data processing to improve the visibility of seismic data in which attenuation or spherical divergence has caused amplitude decay (Figure 5.3).
