What is direct form realization?

In the direct form-I realization of a continuous time system, the differential equation or transfer function describing the system is directly implemented using the separate integrators for the input and output variables. Hence, for realising the system using direct form-I, more number of integrators are required.

What is the direct form 2 realization?

In general, a direct form realization refers to a structure where the coefficients of the transfer function appear directly as Gain blocks. The direct form II realization method is presented as using the minimal number of delay elements, which is equal to n, the order of the transfer function denominator.

Which realization structure is also known as canonic form realization?

Direct Form II structure has reduced memory requirement compared to Direct form I structure. Hence it is called canonic form.

What are the realization of digital filters?

Realization involves converting a given transfer function, H(z), into a suitable filter structure that is generally depicted using block or flow diagrams and shows the computational procedure for implementing the digital filter.
