What is baseline correction EEG?
To reduce the effect of such drifts, it is custom to perform a so-called baseline correction. Essentially, this consists of using EEG activity over a baseline period, i.e. before an external event occurs, to correct activity over a post-stimulus interval, i.e. the time after an external event occurs.
What does baseline corrected mean?
In manual baseline correction, the user picks points that define a new baseline. The baseline can be composed of straight line segments between these points, or a smooth cubic spline curve can be fitted through those points. This baseline is subtracted from the spectrum to yield the baseline corrected spectrum.
What is baseline removal?
You can remove baselines (or "backgrounds") from data by either by including a baseline function when fitting a sum of functions to the data, or by actually subtracting a baseline estimate from the data.
What is baseline signal?
The electrical signal from a sensor when no measured variable is present. Often referred to the output at no-load condition.
