How is audio fingerprinting done?

It relies on a software algorithm to extract a section or small audio sample of the music and generate a digital summary of the recording's main attributes. Parameters such as time, intensity and frequency are used to create a virtual overview of the anchor points and peaks for these attributes.

What is a fingerprint of a sound?

An audio fingerprint is a condensed digital summary of an audio signal, generated by extracting acoustic relevant characteristics of a piece of audio content. Along with matching algorithms, this digital signature permits to identify different versions of a single recording with the same title.

What is YouTube audio fingerprint?

The YouTube Content ID system is an audio fingerprinting program that catalogs submitted music, enabling copyright owners to identify where their music is being used on YouTube. YouTube Content ID gives you the chance to get paid whenever a YouTube video containing your music is viewed.

How do you use AcoustID?
