Do I need ASIO 4 All?
If you don't own an audio interface, or if your interface is class-compliant (no native ASIO driver), you will want the third-party driver called ASIO4ALL. It's also a very handy troubleshooting tool if you're having issues with your sound devices or a manufacturer's ASIO driver.
Why is ASIO4ALL crackling?
Does your ASIO driver have some sort of ASIO control panel where you can change the bit-depth and latency? If so, try increasing the latency because issues with pops/crackling like that usually means the latency is too low.
Does ASIO improve sound quality?
Contrary to popular "audiophile" claims, there are NO benefits from using ASIO as far as music playback quality is concerned, while bugs in ASIO drivers may severely degrade the performance.
