What is RF antenna gain?
Antenna gain is typically given the symbol G, and is defined as the maximum radiation intensity produced by the antenna compared to that given by a lossless isotropic radiator supplied with the same level of power.
What is the gain of a dish antenna?
The high level of gain is one of the main reasons why parabolic reflector antennas are used. In fact the parabolic reflector antenna gain can be as high as 30 to 40 dB. These figures of gain are not easy to achieve using other forms of antenna.
