What is LSB in ADC?

What is an LSB? The LSB is the smallest level that an ADC can convert, or is the smallest increment a DAC outputs. Both converters are used at the boundaries between the analog and digital realms, making it possible for the analog circuits to talk to the digital ones and backwards.

Which ADC time is minimum?

Table 14.8 tells us that the ADC clock frequency should have a maximum value of 13 MHz, and that it takes 65 cycles of the ADC clock to complete a conversion. A quick calculation shows that the minimum conversion time possible is therefore 5 μs.

What is the range of ADC?

An ADC's dynamic range is the range of signal amplitudes which the ADC can resolve; an ADC with a dynamic range of 60dB can resolve signal amplitudes from x to 1000x. Dynamic range is important in communication applications, where signal strengths vary dramatically.

What are the limitations of ADC?

Limitation #2 - An ADC can only be used with one pin at a time. Voltages on multiple pins need to be measured one after the other (this is usually not such a big deal if the ADC is fast). The third element in the circuit is the sampling capacitor, and the resistance of the input circuit and multiplexer feeding it.
