What does 16-bit depth mean?
The number of possible values that can be represented by an integer bit depth can be calculated by using 2n, where n is the bit depth. Thus, a 16-bit system has a resolution of 65,536 (216) possible values. Integer PCM audio data is typically stored as signed numbers in two's complement format.
What is 16-bit color mode?
With 16-bit color, also called High color, computers and monitors can display as many as 65,536 colors, which is adequate for most uses. However, graphic intensive video games and higher resolution video can benefit from and take advantage of the higher color depths.
Is 16-bit or 32-bit color better?
Unless you're using software or games from the mid 90s, 32-bit colour should be ideal choice. Modern graphics card drivers don't even support 16-bit colour depth, let alone any of the legacy IBM display standards such as CGA or EGA.
How many colors is 16-bit?
