The frequency response H(jω) is a function that relates the output response to a sinusoidal input at frequency ω. They are therefore, not surprisingly, related. In fact the frequency response of a system is simply its transfer function as evaluated by substituting s = jω.
What is impulse response and frequency response?
The impulse response is the response of a system to a single pulse of infinitely small duration and unit energy (a Dirac pulse). The frequency response shows how much each frequency is attenuated or amplified by the system. The frequency response of a system is the impulse response transformed to the frequency domain.
What is channel impulse response?
Discrete-time equivalent channel model derived from the continuous-time channel model. The channel impulse response is of length Nf, and the coefficients fm(k) represent the convolution of the transmit filter, the actual communication medium, and the whitening matched filter (WMF) [1].
